“All is good from the underground bunker where DARKEST HOUR is riffing out our new songs. We have nine songs (that’s a full album, dudes!) and we will definitely have a few extra tracks that will be floating around after the record is recorded to so we hope to have some special releases in the works as well. We are off in less then a month to start preproduction with Devin and we couldn’t be more stoked with how the songs are coming out. Think more melodic, more extreme, more insane, more circle pit. Also new this year is updated and expanded enhanced CD content from the Kristin Brooks Hope Center, including a depression self help screening tool and the full text of the book Suicide the Forever Decision, For those Thinking about Suicide and for Those who Know, Love and Counsel Them, by Paul Quinnett, Ph.D.

Sub City Records is the charity component of Southern California independent label Hopeless Records. All Sub City projects benefit various charitable organizations that are working to make the world a better place to live. With 35 releases as well as tours and other projects since 1999, Sub City Records and their artists have raised over $800,000 for charity and will pass the 1 million dollar donation mark this year.

The brand Take Action! was formed by Hopeless & Sub City Records to take the charitable mission to the road through touring and outreach with the goal of creating a better world, one voice and one action at a time. By working with various non-profit organizations, Take Action strives to educate people about the positive difference that can be made by each of us in our community through activism and charitable work.

The benefiting charity for both the compilation CD and the Take Action! Tour is the Youth American Hotline, 1-877-YOUTHLINE (968-8454), a peer-to-peer counseling center that helps young adults in crisis and educates them on mental health issues. Founded by the Kristin Brooks Hope Center (KBHC), teens and young people who are looking for peer support dial 1-877-YOUTHLINE and are seamlessly connected to an available counselor. The network ensures that the people who need help will never get a busy signal and there will always be someone there waiting to talk to them. Reese Butler founded KBHC in 1998 after his wife Kristins suicide, using her life insurance to found an organization that presents the option to live for those in emotional pain. Since then, the KBHC has received a federal grant to expand the network and to date has answered over two million calls.

01.11.07 ANBERLIN TO RELEASE THIRD ALBUM ‘CITIES’ – FEBRUARY 20!
Due out February 20 on Tooth and Nail, CITIES –the new album by ANBERLIN–marks the groups third offering and follow-up to their breakthrough album Never Take Friendship Personal (2005), which went on to sell over 140,000 copies. As a preview to the album release, the new song Godspeed as well as the B-side Haunting are now available on Itunes as exclusive tracks.

ANBERLIN will kick off a headlining U.S. tour February 21 in Charlotte, NC. The coast-to-coast trek will hit New Yorks Bowery Ballroom February 27 and the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles March 13 (see itinerary below with more dates to be announced soon). Bayside, Meg & Dia and Jonezetta will provide support for the winter trek.

Having watched their career rise while touring with everyone from Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance to Yellowcard and Hawthorne Heights, the Winter Haven, Florida-reared quintet doesnt just build on the energy and determination of recent singles like Paperthin Hymn, Feelgood Drag, and A Day Late. Instead, ANBERLIN expands its grasp of what a rock record can be with CITIES. With the sprawling, epic Fin and the gorgeous, lighter-ready The Unwinding Cable Car, the group vastly widens its musical boundaries.

For CITIES, ANBERLIN–STEPHEN CHRISTIAN (vocals), JOSEPH MILLIGAN (guitars), DEON REXROAT (bass), NATHAN STRAYER (guitar) and NATHAN YOUNG (drums)–reunited with producer Aaron Sprinkle (Eisley, MxPx, Pedro The Lion) and recorded the album at Sprinkles Seattle-based Compound facility, with drums captured at the infamous London Bridge studio (where classic albums by Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Temple of The Dog and Blind Melon were realized).

Whether its the huge-sounding, memorable roar of Reclusion or the bright, infectious Adelaide, the writing team of frontman STEPHEN CHRISTIAN and guitarist JOSEPH MILLIGAN drives ANBERLIN. Anberlin has always had really good songs, says STEPHEN of the groups past output. Still, I think this is the first time weve got a really great album. MILLIGAN adds, Id like to think we have more in us and even broader spaces to cover in the future, but this is our proudest moment. Id just like it to have it find its way into the hands of as many people as possible. Not for glory, but because were so proud of it.

The full track listing for CITIES is as follows:
    Intro
    Godspeed
    Adelaide
    A Whisper and a Clamor
    The Unwinding Cable Car
There is No Mathematics to Love and Loss
    Hello Alone
    Reclusion
    Alexithymia
    Inevitable
    Dismantle Repair

    01.09.07 AIDEN – CHAOS & CONVINCTION!
After a hectic year which saw the band crisscrossing the globe, performing to sold-out crowds and grabbing several awards, Seattle horror-punksters, Aiden are set to accomplish even more in 2007with Conviction, which will be the title of their upcoming full-length effort on Victory Records.

The band begins pre-production on their eagerly anticipated release January 15, according to leading WiL Francis, 14 songs have already been written. I’ve never been more excited about new songs, he declares. I’ve never written songs like this, mainly because I was scared that it wasn’t “punk” enough. But I woke up one day and asked myself what is punk? And the answer I came up with was that punk rock is a state of mind, not a sound on a record. Punk is about being true to yourself and doing what you love and saying f-you to anyone who tries to bring you down.

So this record has some things on it that are a lot different than what I’m used to. I’m no longer scared what people will think of me or what they might say. A good tune is a good tune, and that this is going to be our biggest and most ambitious record to date.

Aiden will remain ambitious out of the studio as well. As soon as they finish recording, they head out on the Taste of Chaos North American tour for 31 dates, when fly back out to England for a quick British jaunt with Lostprophets. But thats almost taking it easy compared to their itinerary in 2006:

It started with the Kerrang 25 Year Anniversary Tour in England with Bullet For My Valentine; they then did their first tour of Germany, before returning home to the States to play on 30 Seconds to Mars national tour. Then back to the Europe for a bevy of summer festivals. Back again to the States for a tour with H.I.M. The group returned to Europe for another festival and to pick up a Best Newcomer award from Metal Hammer.

By this time it was summer, and Aiden returned to Americas to perform on every date on the Warped tour. Back yet again to England for more huge music festivals and to win Best International Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards. They even stuck around to headline their own UK and Europe tour, selling out everywhere months in advance. They flew back to the States for still another national tour, this time with Silverstein. After that, they finished off the year playing five shows in four days in Australia.

Of course, Aiden will return to the major summer tour circuit this summer, and you can expect them to perform their new music with total and utter conviction. When people ask me what Conviction means and is all about, I’m going to say its about believing in yourself and the people around you, Francis states. Its about living your life as you want it to be livedthats Conviction!

You can see Aiden on the following dates of the Taste of Chaos tour

“If you have not heard by now, we are sorry to say that Mat Bruso will no longer be singing for Bury Your Dead. He has decided that he has come to a point in his life where he must focus on more important things like going back to school to become a teacher and his upcoming marriage. The four remaining members will be pushing on with the band and will be looking for a new singer over the next few months. We have never had this much time off so we are just trying to find something to do with ourselves while we are home. We are bummed and apologize for having to cancel our European run with Killswitch Engage and The Haunted. We hope you all understand.

If you are about serious rock shows , tomfoolery and amps that go to 11 , keep your eyes and ears open for your opportunity to try out within the next few weeks , we will be posting how to do that on our websites ASAP.

    Thanks, Slim”
