BANG BANG ECHE KICK OFF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH HAR MAR SUPERSTAR

New Zealand dance punks Bang Bang Eche will be kicking off their North American tour this October with Har Mar Superstar following a plethora of performance at this year’s annual CMJ Music Marathon. The band of teenagers will be over in the US to promote their highly anticipated new EP, Sonic Death Cuntttt, available worldwide this November and the follow up to their 2008 self-titled debut EP.

OLD CANES: OCT/NOV TOUR BEGINS TOMORROW

Tomorrow, Old Canes will embark on their October/November tour, beginning with a hometown show at the Jackpot in Lawrence, KS. The tour will initially take the band eastward, where they will perform at the CMJ Music Marathon during the Saddle Creek showcase at the Knitting Factory Brooklyn on October 22nd. Feral Harmonic, the band’s sophomore album, will be released October 20th on Saddle Creek.

Limited edition CDs and LPs of Feral Harmonic are now available in the Saddle Creek online store. Hand-assembled at the Saddle Creek office by Grammy award-winning artist Zack Nipper, each CD and LP is wrapped with a black ribbon and features hand ink-stamped impressions on the cover label and inner/outer packaging, and a booklet of black and white photographs. The vinyl run is a hand-numbered edition of 1,000 and includes a code to download the album in high quality MP3 format. Old Canes is the brainchild of Chris Crisci (The Appleseed Cast), who wrote and recorded Feral Harmonic in his basement studio. On tour, he is joined by Kelly Hangauer (4th of July), Taylor Hollenbeck, Lucas Oswald (Minus Story), John Momberg (Appleseed Cast/Dactyls; drums on the West coast leg of the tour), and Jeff Stoltz (Drakkar Sauna; drums on the East coast leg of the tour).

THE ROCKET SUMMER RETURNS WITH ‘YOU GOTTA BELIEVE’

After more than two years of non-stop touring as The Rocket Summer, frontman, songwriter and multi-instrumental mastermind Bryce Avary has finally been able to put the finishing touches on his second major label album release on Island Records, OF MEN AND ANGELS, due to arrive early next year. Single “You Gotta Believe” will premier on AlternativePress.com on October 19th. Fans can hear early teases of the song on the site week of October 12th.

Two days before the You Gotta Believe EP release, the Rocket Summer returns to the road, for a 34-city North American tour with Forever the Sickest Kids, opening October 25th in Oklahoma City, ending six weeks later in San Francisco on December 5th.

ORENDA FINK : NEW ALBUM ‘ASK THE NIGHT’ OUT NOW!

Orenda Fink’s sophomore solo album Ask The Night arrived in stores on Tuesday. Following her heralded 2005 release Invisible Ones, the new album is an homage to her Southern roots and inspired by traditional American folk music and Southern Gothic literature. The album has been striking a chord with the press; the blog Captain’s Dead remarked, “Orenda Fink’s Ask The Night…plain and simple is a beautiful and haunting record and definitely one of my favorite sounding records of the year…Highly recommended!”

Orenda will travel to New York City for the CMJ Music Marathon later this month to perform at an Oct. 21st day party presented by Rachael Ray’s Feedback, The Syndicate, and Amnesty International, as well as the Saddle Creek showcase on Oct. 22nd.

TRAIN’S ‘SAVE ME, SAN FRANCISCO’ TOUR & NEW ALBUM COMING SOON

GRAMMY Award-winning band Train is rolling back out to launch their “Save Me, San Francisco Tour” on October 20th in Seattle, Washington, in support of the October 27th release of their new Columbia Records’ album, Save Me, San Francisco. The 28-city concert tour runs through December 11th, and features special guest Uncle Kracker.

EMILIE AUTUMN ADDS MORE TOUR DATES

As Halloween looms in the near future, so does the release of the expanded album version of EMILIE AUTUMN’s seminal Opheliac which has created a huge international fanbase for Courtney Love’s “anarchy violinist.” Released for the first time in the U.S. by The End Records on October 27th, The Deluxe Edition includes five new and exclusive tracks, live concert footage, video interviews, and album out-takes previously unavailable. In support of the album’s release, Emilie has added additional North American tour dates.

Not surprisingly, all the VIP Packages offered in each city (which includes one ticket, an autographed copy of her long-awaited book The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls, a signed limited edition poster, and a Meet & Greet with Emilie and a semi-private reading from The Asylum…) have SOLD OUT within an hour of sale. In addition, pre-sale tickets were SOLD OUT at the end of the day they went on sale. Tickets are still available for the general public but are selling out quickly.

DAVE HOUSE ANNOUNCES US TOUR

Beginning tomorrow, Dave House (Kingston, UK) will embark on a 17-day tour of the US in support of his latest full-length, Intersections. The record is the third solo effort from the bassist of the recently defunct British punk band, The Steal.

Released on CD earlier this summer in the UK by Banquet Records, Intersections is now receiving a proper stateside release from up-and-coming indie, Runner Up Records. The label will press a 12″ LP version of the album on coke bottle clear (300) and mixed marble colored (200) vinyl. To pre-order a copy now, go here.

Intersections will see an official release date of November 24th, although pre-orders will ship well before that. House will have copies for sale on tour as well.
