Wild Light’s debut album Adult Nights was produced by Rob Schnapf (Beck, Elliott Smith) and is out this March on Startime International. The LA Times raved about the group, naming them an Artist to Watch in 2009 and KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic has begun playing the song “Call Home.”
Be sure to catch the band when they come play at a city near you along their current coast to coast tour with Tapes N Tapes. Head to www.myspace.com/wildlight for a complete list of tour dates.

KOUFAX SINGLE – ANY MOMENT NOW – OUT TOMORROW
Koufax is offering up a taste of their upcoming album Strugglers with a digital release of the first single “Any Moment Now” on August 5th. With a crazy horn section and tales of a shady downtown drug deal, the frantic funkiness exudes the musicianship and wit that sets Koufax apart from the pack. Also available is the exclusive b-side “George Michael Issues”- a look at the distracting popstar scandals that fill our news while more important issues remain unnoticed. This one, as most know, takes place in a Beverly Hills bathroom.
Our neighbors to the north at the blog Muzak for Cybernetics are offering the album’s title track and states, “If you ask me, not enough people have heard this band… If you’re into poppy piano ballads and dreamy synthesizers, this is one band you definitely must check out. Considering the fact that they sound kind of similar to Spoon, I’m surprised they haven’t completely lit up the blogosphere by now.”
Strugglers hits stores September 23rd via Doghouse Records. The 10-song collection of hip-shakin’ rock and indie-pop bliss is sure to be one of this fall’s must-have albums. With lyrical strength and a delivery that Rolling Stone calls “dramatic, Morrissey-like crooning,” Robert Suchan ranks as one of the most talented (though often underappreciated) frontmen in the game.
Returning from his Czech outpost, Suchan and band hit the road in August including select dates with Smoking Popes. Current dates include…

New Morgan Geist Song – “Most of All” – feat. Jeremy Greenspan (Junior Boys)
This song was originally released as the A-side of a 12″ on Morgan Geist’s Environ label two years ago, but we’ve just been given it in advance of Geist’s forthcoming album Double Night Time, which has been in steady rotation since we got it. It’s his first album in nearly a decade, after some time focusing on Metro Area with Darshan Jesrani, and along with that 12″s B-side, “Skyblue Pink”, the album is full of super poppy, almost r&b-ish lite jams that, if we did this kind of thing, would be perfect for sipping froo-froos in an infinity pool somewhere really expensive. Or you can just rock it while you soak your buns in a puddle. It’s an album that spans the divide between New York’s two classes: Ballers Out of Control and Everyone Else. It comes out in October, but you can catch Geist and his Environ bros maxing at PS 1 in Queens in a few weeks if you can’t wait that long.
