Evans Blue announces fall tour dates

Decembersongs to bring holiday cheer on the road

A tour dubbed Decembersongs, featuring four singer-songwriters (with a couple of Grammy nominations and awards among them), will be making its way across the Northeast, Midwest, South, and Mid-Atlantic regions with eleven stops during the month of December. Decembersongs is the brainchild of one of the four performers, Amy Speace, who had the idea for the tour following separate showcases last February at the Folk Alliance International Conference in Memphis with Sally Barris, Jon Vezner and Dan Navarro.

The group plans to play in-the-round, with mostly original holiday songs penned by the group being performed. A disc of these holiday songs by the quartet, entitled Decembersongs, will be available for sale at all of the shows, as well as online at iTunes and Amazon.com. The set list will also include traditional holiday favorites and some of the artists’ non-holiday material.

SUNS offers debut for free download

Chicago’s SUNS are offering up their debut for free download. The band’s first release is the double EP entitled Close Calls in the U.S. Space Program / The Howl and the Many. A solid band of six, including everything from guitar, mandolin, banjo and bass to synth, glockenspiel and dual drummers, SUNS’ progressive indie rock is truly a sound to behold. It is not very often you see a debut shrouded in such confident ambition but SUNS are anything but ordinary.

Jonny Burke to release ‘Distance and Fortune’ in February!

Austin, TX-based singer-songwriter Jonny Burke is set to release his debut full-length album, Distance And Fortune, on February 22, 2011. The album was produced by Marc Ford (Black Crowes, Ryan Bingham) at the Compound Studio in Southern California.

We Came As Romans to headline Motel 6’s ‘Rock Yourself to Sleep’ Tour

We Came As Romans will kick off the new year as the headline act on the Motel 6 “Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour“.

Joining the Michigan-based band on the full U.S. tour will be For Today, The Word Alive, Woe Is Me, and labelmates Texas In July.
