04.18.06 Stavesacre’s How To Live With A Curse In Stores Tomorrow!!
Stavesacre’s new album How to Live with a Curse arrives in stores tomorrow, Tuesday, April 18 on Abacus Recordings. Produced by Matt Hyde (No Doubt, Porno for Pyros to Slayer, Fu Manchu, and Hatebreed) How to Live with a Curse is the Huntington Beach, CA band’s fifth (and arguably strongest) album.

The Orange County Register calls it, ” a decidedly strong return to form for the Surf City outfit…a mix of powerful riff-rock, soaring melodic material and emotive slower tracks…”

All Ages Zine raves, “Alternative radio; get ready to welcome Stavesacre to your rotations… a nice blend of alternative rock influences that live up to comparisons they have received to Quicksand and Queens of the Stone Age.”

Production is currently wrapping up with Darren Doane (XDOANEX) on a high definition video for the first single from the album, “Its Beautiful (Once You’re Out Here).”

Stavesacre will be playing a number of dates around the country and abroad in support of How To Live With A Curse. The band’s CD release party will take place Tuesday night at Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA.

Preview tracks at PureVolume and Myspace.

04.18.06 SIRE RECORDS SIGNS ARMOR FOR SLEEP?
Albany, NY – April 17, 2006 (Equal Vision) – Four years after joining the Equal Vision Records family in the winter of 2002, Armor For Sleep have signed with Sire Records, an imprint of the Warner Music Group.

In June of 2003, Equal Vision issued Armor For Sleep’s debut album, Dream To Make Believe, which introduced their music to the world, and built-up the band’s core fan base.

Dream To Make Believe set the stage for what was to come. After a countless number of tours in support of the album, and two music videos for “Dream To Make Believe” and “My Town,” Armor For Sleep was ready to unleash their new masterpiece. The 11-song What To Do When You Are Dead was released in February of 2005, and the massive buzz that had been surrounding the band began to increase exponentially.

To date, What To Do When You Are Dead has sold over 160,000 albums, and yielded two music videos for “Car Underwater” and “The Truth About Heaven,” the latter which went on to be featured on MTV’s 10 Spot Drop, and earned the band a spot performing at MTV’s Spring Break 2006. The video also won Fuse TV’s OvenFresh competition by a landslide against major artists Green Day, System of a Down, Spoon, Straylight Run, The Dandy Warhols, and Morningwood.

Armor For Sleep’s final release with Equal Vision was a 90-minute DVD entitled, “A Comprehensive Guide To Touring,” that came out in November 2005. The DVD documented the band’s growth over the previous year from recording What To Do… to Armor For Sleep’s first headlining tour, and everything in between.

Look for Armor For Sleep on The Vans Warped Tour all summer long.

Everyone at Equal Vision Records is proud to have worked with Armor For Sleep for the last four years, and will continue to support them wherever they may go. We guarantee many more great things to come from the four individuals that make up Armor For Sleep. Ben, Anthony, Nash, and PJ will forever be considered part of the Equal Vision family.

With grand stage productions and lively comparisons to legendary rock acts, both bands combined energy on the same stage is sure to endear them to many new converts, while earning the tour soon-to-be legendary status. Its a huge musical moment for the two most forward thinking bands in rock today.

When Avenged Sevenfold announced their Cities Of Evil Tour last fall, they embarked on a musical tour-de force that began in October and continues even now, as the band returns to Los Angeles for a giant sold out homecoming show at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Friday, February 17. The album, City Of Evil, for which the tour has supported, is now gold in status, due in no small part to the bands energetic live performance, arena production values, and their ability to convert new fans at every show. The gold triumph is just one of many, as the band continues to redefine the rock genre as of late, storming MTV, radio, the road and the press with reckless abandon. For proof, see the recent Alternative Press cover which sold thru on newsstands everywhere, as well as the upcoming April cover of Revolver magazine, on stands Feb 21. Both outlets delve deep into what makes this band rock harder than any other at the moment. The success of City Of Evil, coupled with the prior release of two critically acclaimed albums, Sounding The Seventh Trumpet, and Waking The Fallen, along with over six years of near constant touring has seen the bands rabid fan base embrace everything Avenged Sevenfold says, does and creates. As its legion of fans grow everyday, those devotees will soon get a closer glimpse of Avenged Sevenfold when they unleash their first DVD later this year, documenting life on the road and at home.

Coheed is on their own steady rise to stardom. Building a rabid following since 2001s Second Stage Turbine Blade, the band has stacked their loyal admirers, a tower cultivated brick by brick, achieving Gold Status with their sophomore release In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: Three upon a foundation that is awe inspiring. The accompanying DVD Live at the Starland Ballroom has also gone Gold. This tour, in support of their new near-gold album Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume 1: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness”, includes a 14-foot functional guillotine, full stage props and intense projection imagery, borrowing from singer Claudio Sanchez’s 124 page graphic novel that reveals the story behind Good Apollo. Seeing Coheed live is an experience that harks back to 70’s arena rock, but with an energy more aligned with post-punk rock and roll.

Both bands have extensive touring history between them in the States. Avenged has participated in four Warped Tour treks, while Coheed has been on two. Both artists have several US headlining tours under their belt and this co-headlining effort will surely be the most groundbreaking yet for each artist.A7X / COHEED AND CAMBRIA TOUR DATES:

02.12.06 WE ARE THE FURY ACCIDENT!
A letter about the accident from We Are The Fury;
“Hey everyone. Friday afternoon we were involved in a serious accident while driving through Colorado. We crashed our van around the Vail Passage area of Route 70 near Breckenridge. We were driving through a heavy snowstorm on our way home from Los Angeles when we hit ice and lost control of our vehicle and slammed into the guardrail. Surprisingly, the guardrail held and we didn’t fall down the five hundred foot mountain drop, which is a miracle. As we were sliding toward the edge our trailer jackknifed and snapped off. This prevented the van from flipping and rolling over the side of the mountain, which is a damn good thing because if we had gone over the edge I definitely would not be here describing the accident to you. For the most part, we are all alright aside from being a bit shook up. We all have cuts and bruises from the impact and the air bags, but we feel extremely lucky. However our van was not so lucky. Its looking like the axle snapped on impact, which will most likely leave the van totaled. We are currently looking into rental options to get home and will then be trying to do whatever we can to try and get a new van. If you have some change in your pocket or a dollar laying around here or there and would like to help out please go to our myspace page for more info at http://www.myspace.com/thefury. I want to thank everyone who has expressed their concern!! We are looking forward to getting home, healing up and, pending a resolution to our travel situation, heading back out for the east coast portion of the Head Automatica / Morningwood tour.
Jeremy Lublin
We Are The Fury”

01.16.06 Reel Big Fish Part Ways With Jive Records!
Orange County’s Reel Big Fish is officially off the Jive Records roster and thats just fine with them. After four years and two full-length albums (Were Not Happy Til Youre Not Happy and Cheer Up!; not including a release from front man Aaron Barret and RBF Trumpeter John Christianson’s side project The Forces of Evil) the two have just parted ways. Reel Big Fish can now pursue more daring opportunities that didnt fit into the corporate scheme of things and Jive will continue to search for the next big boy-band.

Never ones to wallow in self-pity (who are we kidding?) the long running ska-punk act is genuinely excited about what the future holds as they are now free to embrace the DIY ethic that has always been a part of Reel Big Fish but was suppressed thanks to major label politics. Over the years the band has picked up a few tricks and enlisted help from various industry notables rather than relying on the standard record label infrastructure.

“The traditional major label business model is a dinosaur whose feet are already covered in tar,” points out band manager Vince Pileggi. Adding, “We have already been in touch with numerous labels and are actively considering aggressive deals that we hope will be the new industry standard.”

Reel Big Fish are currently weighing their options as they tour the country with Goldfinger and Zebrahead as part of the Deep Freeze Tour. Later this month they will head overseas for additional concert dates followed by a quick trip to Las Vegas for the International Ska Circus, a 2-day ska music festival similar to the successful Ska Summit back in 2003, and a one-off performance in Dubai before going into the studio to mix a live album which is now expected to be released this summer.

Fans can expect a major announcement about the band’s summer tour plans shortly.

09.03.05 Secret Lives Of The Freemasons Vocalist Leaves Band;
Remaining Members To Hold Auditions For New Vocalist
Astro Magnetics is sorry to announce that Secret Lives of the Freemasons vocalist Brien Worsham has decided to leave the band for personal reasons. We’ll miss his style, his personality, his laugh, his scent, and his musk. When this whole thing blows over we should get an apartment together.
The band has decided to cancel their northeast dates on their October tour with Across Five Aprils to address this setback and are currently planning auditions for a replacement singer/front man to continue the remainder of their national tour. They will pick back up with A5A on August 16th in West Palm Beach, Florida, and will soon be joined by Scary Kids Scaring Kids as they head west through Texas.
To audition, individuals must have experience with this type of singing style and preferably a history as a front man. These are big shoes to fill, but Astro Magnetics has complete faith in our boys, and are looking forward to bright and explosive future for the band.
To contact Secret Lives about auditioning during the next two week, send an email message to: secretlivesdanceparty@hotmail.com or myspace.com/secretlives

08.13.05 HELLFEAST2K5.
Fighting your way through a crowd of 8100 fans, bringing the mosh for 188 bands and spending your dollars on rare releases and t-shirts can bring you to the point of exhaustion. Hellfest figured you deserve a bit more than nachos topped with cheese from a can and giant pickles. Were thinking fajita grilled veggies, creamy pastas, yummy Asian dishes, fresh sushi rolls, filling rice bowls, fresh fruit and fresh fruit smoothies. We know how our scene kids dig their vegetarianism, so dont worry. We know know just how to cater to the herbivores as well as the carnivores. Hellfest has invited Bowlborygmous and Sushi Blues to bring their culinary expertise to the hardcore scene. Heres a taster:

BOWLBORYGMOUS
Bowlborygmous, LLC is a mobile vending and specialty catering outfit run by David Liepman. David is committed to serving Fusion Fast Fooda unique style of global cuisine formulated and fortified with the freshest and highest quality ingredients. Bowlborygmous has formulated a menu that is prepared and served fresh, providing each customer a super-fresh, super-fast, super-hearty, super-healthy, 100% homemade-to-order meal. All of Bowlborygmous, LLC menu items are vegan/vegetarian-yet easily modifiable with choice of meat and cheese additions to delight those of carnivorous inclinations.

SUSHI BLUES
Sushi Blues is run by veteran sushi connoisseurs, Arthur and Candi Ramer, in Hamilton, NY. With eight years of some tantalizing sushi and other signature Asian dishes under their belt, why not venture out into a huge market of vegetarians and vegans. Vegetarian sushi, vegetarian rice bowls and keep your fingers crossed for some mouth-watering California Rolls, what better dish could you possible want to re-charge with from the long hours on the dance floor.

So, by now your mouths are watering and your tummies are rumbling. So, be sure and stop by the Hellfeast tent for the best festival food your mouth has ever encountered. Your taste-buds will thank you.
