ELECTRIC SIX’S NEW ALBUM DUE OUT 10/21!

Metropolis recording artists ELECTRIC SIX are gearing up for the release of their fifth album FLASHY on October 21, 2008. Produced by guitarist Zach Shipps and recorded at Hamtramck Sound Machine in Michigan, Flashy is a diverse journey in their absurdist, surrealist, and oftimes double entendre-driven minds. “Our modus operandi for this record was to use more horns,” vocalist Dick Valentine says with a sideways glance, “And also to write songs on synthesizers and then turn them into guitar-based songs. But the main thing was to get all these songs out of our heads and onto paper. They were in our heads. Now they are on paper.”

In advance of the album’s release, Electric Six will also be playing a handful of shows this week, supported by New York-based Tragedy, a heavy metal tribute to The Bee Gees, including boat cruises in New York City and Boston. In the Fall to kick off album’s release, the band will also embark on an extensive national tour with Local H, kicking off in their homestate of Michigan.

MAN WITHOUT WAX • PREORDER, TOUR DATES & MORE

Anchor, the debut record from Man Without Wax, is the fervent heartbeat of the reborn Seattle music community. Immediate, deliberate and anything but forgiving. these ten songs compel listeners towards action with their vibrant mix of Muse and Alkaline Trio aesthetics and the more contemporary vocal deliveries of My Chemical Romance and Say Anything. As students in the grand tradition of over-the-top-rock, MWW teamed up with star producer, Casey Bates (Chiodos, Portugal The Man, Foxy Shazam, The Number Twelve Looks Like You) to produce this collection of dark but ultimately contagious rock songs.

Their first single “Kansas City Shuffle” is a shoe in for this years underdog anthem, dripping with the most memorable melody imaginable sauntering over reach-for-the-rafters guitar lines and pile-driving drum parts. Anchor’s first track, “You Pull Me Through Time” feels like a chamber choir on acid after having listened to Queen’s “A Night At The Opera”. Needless to say, this record is an eclectic one.

If you can’t imagine ever mustering the hope and constitution to even dream of toppling the status quo, don’t worry – Man Without Wax has it covered. And if it is true as their manifesto contends that “Ideals alone do not change a country,” than we take solace in knowing that at least someone has decided change is necessary. Anchor will be in US stores on September 9th, 2008. ORDER IT NOW!

THE ARCHITECTS DEBUT NEW VIDEO FOR “PILLS”

Fiercely outspoken but often with tongue-firmly-in-cheek, Brandon Phillips of The Architects has lots to say about the U.S. Healthcare system and how manipulative it is. But instead of standing on a soapbox and shouting it from the rafters, he opted to shout it through their new video instead. Culled from their recently released third album Vice on Anodyne Records, the single “Pills” cynically rips into the time-worn practice of placating patients through the numbing effect of pills and other forms of medication. The video will be exclusively streamed for a week on AbsolutePunk.net (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=459932).

In addition to debuting the video for “Pills”, The Architects will also be joining Authority Zero for a run of dates in August. Dates are:

Aug 19 The Tonic Bar Reno, NV
Aug 22 El Corazon Seattle, WA
Aug 26 Mesa Theatre Grand Junction, CO
Aug 27 Aggie Theatre Ft. Collins, CO
Aug 28 Bluebird Theatre Denver, CO
Aug 29 Green Light Tavern Pueblo, CO

A STATIC LULLABY VS BRITNEY SPEARS

Eye Alaska - Yellow & Elephants

The fourth album from A Static Lullaby, “Rattlesnake!” is available for pre order today through Interpunk, Smartpunk, and Merchnow.

A Static Lullaby goes head to head with Britney Spears on the band’s not so bubblegum-pop cover of her hit song, “Toxic”. After the popularity of their cover of Frou Frou’s “Let Go”, A Static Lullaby went back into the studio to give fans an addicting new bonus track. Everyone who pre orders the album before its street date will receive this Britney Spears cover of “Toxic” from A Static Lullaby as an MP3 download the same day.

If you can’t wait until September 9th for the CD, you can listen to the “Rattlesnake!” sampler, now playing on their Myspace page. The sampler plays clips from every track off their upcoming album.

To hear your favorite tracks, be sure to catch A Static Lullaby this summer co-headlining on the Party Star Tour with Dance Gavin Dance, Four Letter Lie, Secret and Whisper and Lower Definition. You can also see A Static Lullaby this fall with Maylene and The Sons of Disaster, Showbread, Confide, and Attack Attack! The tour kicks off on September 26th in Memphis, TN and ends on November 15, 2008.

THERE FOR TOMORROW: EP out now!

Hopeless recording artists THERE FOR TOMORROW have been busy keeping Vans Warped Tour audiences in ancipation for their self-titled EP which is released nationwide today and garnering critical acclaim. All Music Guide contends: “A perfect mix of neo-rock, indie-pop and punk, the group’s eponymous EP demands attention.” Aquarian Weekly opines: “the boys of There For Tomorrow have become self-groomed into a unified musical powerhouse that is sure to be one of those bands to watch out for in the coming months.” Alternative Press singles out the track “Pages” in particular and calls it “a killer song.” Produced by multi-time Gold record producer James Paul Wisner (Paramore, Underoath, Dashboard Confessional) at the helm, There For Tomorrow captures the exuberance and excitement on which the band has built their live shows.

With Warped Tour behind them, they are about to embark on their next run with Ivoryline and Take the Crown, with some dates supporting Anberlin and Straylight Run (with Scary Kids Scaring Kids on select dates) later in the Fall.
