STRUNG OUT ANNOUNCE TOUR DATES

As things slow down for most during the holiday season, Strung Out is quite busy and has a number of announcements. After a string of successful US tour dates that wrapped in November, including a date in Costa Rica, the long-standing punks have announced a handful of dates this January. The band will head to Hawaii on December 11th to play the official kick off party for Van’s Triple Crown of Surfing, and on January 15th the group will also be making a special appearance at the annual NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Convention, performing at the Fender booth. The band compiled live footage from their recent US tour to make the video for “Carcrashradio,” which can be viewed exclusively at ShockHound.com. Touring in support of their seventh studio album, Agents Of The Underground (9/09, Fat Wreck Chords), dates in Europe, South America, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the rest of the US will be announced shortly.

In other news, the band has announced a spate of early 2010 shows in their native NYC. In late January, Midnight Masses will reunite with Peter Hale, longtime collaborator and drummer for Here We Go Magic, at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Then, on every Wednesday in February, Masses will be performing at Union Pool in Brooklyn along with an assemblage of special guests to be announced in the coming weeks and months.

DUFFING FOR DOLLARS

Music Industry vets Kevin Lyman (Vans Warped Tour, Rockstar Taste Of Chaos, Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival) and John Reese (Freeze Management, Rockstar Taste Of Chaos), along with their industry and celebrity friends, are putting together Duffing For Dollars, a fun-filled day of golf and a night of cocktails, music and casino gaming for fantastic prizes. Rocker Adrian Young of No Doubt is confirmed to host and Joe Sib of Complete Control Radio (98.7 FM, Los Angeles) will co-host the event which will raise funds for Unite The United & My Friend’s Place and will take place Monday, January 25th at the beautiful Mission Viejo Country Club.

American Carnage: Slayer & Megadeth

The Rocket Summer Premieres “You Gotta Believe” On AOL Music

Another successful tour wraps up this weekend for The Rocket Summer, as frontman, songwriter and multi-instrumental mastermind Bryce Avary looks ahead to the release of his long-awaited second major label album release on Island Records, OF MEN AND ANGELS, scheduled to arrive February 23, 2010.

In advance of the album release, the 4-song EP You Gotta Believe was issued by The Rocket Summer in October, at the same time its title track premiered on AlternativePress.com as the new single. Coinciding with the EP release, The Rocket Summer returned to the road, for a 34-city North American tour.
