Tiny Engines to release Annabel 7″

Annabel 'Here We Are Tomorrow'

Tiny Engines is pleased to announce that it will release Here We Are Tomorrow, the newest 7″ EP from Kent, Ohio’s Annabel.

Slated for an “official” release of December 14th, the EP is now available for pre-order from the label.

Here We Are Tomorrow contains four brand new songs – plus a 5th bonus digital-only track – and will be pressed on blue (300) and maroon (200) vinyl. Packaging will feature printed polybags, hand-screened / numbered inserts and each copy of the 7″ will come with a free mp3 download code.

Annabel is currently streaming the first track from the 7-inch, “The Forgetting Of Names And Faces,” on its myspace page. The song is also available for download as part of Punknews.org’s recent The Fest 9: A Free Compilation (Volume 1).

Grown Ups – Pre-order ‘More Songs’ now!

The North American re-release of More Songs, the critically-acclaimed full-length from Chicago’s Grown Ups, is now available for pre-order from Topshelf Records (My Heart To Joy, Pianos Become The Teeth, Defeater).

The Midwestern quartet’s debut will see an official Stateside street date of November 9th on both CD and LP formats. Originally issued in May of 2010 by Big Scary Monsters, the British imprint will continue to carry the record as part of its catalog in the UK and Europe

Limited to 500 12-inches on four colorways (100 Coke Bottle Clear / 100 Off White / 100 Clear Gold / 200 Black), Topshelf has several special package deals available and the label will be giving away a test pressing to one random pre-order. Moreover, anyone who ordered the first pressing of the BSM-released More Songs is eligible for a free, exclusive screen-printed poster. Go here for additional info.

To celebrate the pre-order launch and upcoming release, Grown Ups and Topshelf have partnered with Absolutepunk.net for a test pressing contest. To enter, go here.

A U.S. tour in support of the re-release is currently being booked and Grown Ups will be playing this year’s Fest in Gainesville, FL as well. (tour dates to come soon!)

Carpenter – Canadian/US tour starts today

Vancouver, BC’s Carpenter will embark on a six-week tour through Canada and the United States in support of its newest record, Sea To Sky.

The quartet’s sophomore full-length was released digitally and on CD in Canada last week (09/21) by Goldstock Records, a new imprint created by Carpenter front man Daniel Sioui and Stu McKillop (Daggermouth, In Bear Country). To grab a copy, go here or you can pick one up from the band on tour.

Carpenter recently joined the esteemed roster of Gainesville punk label Paper + Plastick, which will be releasing the album digitally and on 12″ vinyl. The LP will be officially out on October 26th (pre-orders up soon!) while digital should be available at iTunes and other online retailers within the next couple of weeks.

You can stream the first two tracks on Sea To Sky, “Mean Things” and “Common Law,” here.

Formed in 2005 from the ashes of some of Vancouver’s biggest post-punk bands (All State Champion, By A Thread, Daggermouth), Carpenter’s rock n roll assault sprung from singer Daniel Sioui’s obsession with the 1982 John Cougar classic American Fool. Like Mellencamp, Sioui took aim at writing material that was lasting, catchy and heartfelt whilst retaining the intensity and DIY ethics of the members’ punk and hardcore roots.

As the follow-up to the outfit’s acclaimed debut, Law Of The Land, Sea To Sky was recorded with engineer Stu McKillop at Rain City Recorders (Broadway Calls, Living with Lions) and features 10 tracks that embrace its musical roots. Hints of 90s emo and post punk seep into the band’s established rock n roll sound. It’s an evolution that keeps its members inspired to forge ahead and work tirelessly to spread the word of Carpenter.

One Win Choice – Vinyl / Tours

ONE WIN CHOICE has just announced that their upcoming three-song 7-inch will be released by Jump Start Records in early 2009. The band should have copies in late October though, just in time for their show at The Fest in Gainesville, F.L.

Jump Start will be releasing the U.S. vinyl version of the Belgium band’s latest full-length, Testimony, on October 21st.
