LESS THAN JAKE ANNOUNCE FALL TOUR DATES

After 15 months of touring, Less Than Jake are showing no signs of quitting. Less Than Jake are hitting the road this November and December in support of their latest album GNV FLA on their own label Sleep It Off. In additon to bringing along with Fishbone, The Casualties, The Swellers and Cage as support, they are teaming up with Vans Warped Tour and hosting a very special pre-show screening of the Vans Warped Tour 15th Anniversary Celebration movie which will be released on DVD and CD by EMI in March 2010. This 40 minute edited version of the film celebrates the 15th anniversary of the tour and features performances by NOFX, All American Rejects, Bad Religion, blink-182, 3OH!3, and many more as well as red carpet clips and special behind-the-scenes access footage that was captured live at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on September 6th. CURSIVE ANNOUNCES NOVEMBER/DECEMBER HEADLINING DATES

Cursive has announced a new run of headlining dates next month, beginning November 24th at the Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS. The shows will continue into December and wrap up on the 13th at Lash’s 6th Annual Toy Drive at the Waiting Room in the band’s hometown of Omaha, NE.

The Toy Drive is an annual benefit show organized by Omaha musician Larry Dunn for the children of the Porcupine District of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, one of the most impoverished communities in the U.S. Gift donations will be accepted at the show and 100% of ticket proceeds will go toward buying additional gifts and holiday stockings. Tickets are $14 and go on sale this Saturday, October 17th.

About Lash’s 6th Annual Toy Drive
Since 2003, Omaha rockabilly musician Larry Dunn has organized a toy drive for the children of the Porcupine District of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. According to the 2000 census, Pine Ridge’s Lakota Sioux community is one of the most poverty stricken communities in the United States. The children of the reservation are desperately in need of some sunshine and cheer, especially during a time of cold, harsh winds and immense desolation like winters on the reservation can be. The majority of gifts for the children are collected at benefit concerts put on by Omaha-area musicians. JUSTIN OF BLUE OCTOBER TO ADDRESS CONGRESS ON SUICIDE PREVENTION & AWARENESS

The PICK UP THE PHONE TOUR will launch with a press conference on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC Wednesday, October 21 at 10:00 AM. Justin Furstenfeld, the lead singer of Blue October, will be on hand to speak and perform an acoustic set before members of Congress as well as supporters of the tour partners 1-800 SUICIDE, PostSecret and TWLOHA. Justin–who has struggled with bi-polar disorder most of his life–will be calling on Congress to fund both creative writing and art therapy programs as alternative options for mental health. The press conference will also urge Congress to fully fund the Garrett Lee Smith Memorial Act which provides the funding behind the majority of the suicide prevention programs in the United States today.

DAYLIGHT – PRE-ORDER NEW RECORD!

Sinking, the 5-song debut from Daylight (Doylestown, PA) is now available for pre-order from Get This Right Records. The fledgling label will be releasing the album on both 10″ vinyl as well as cdep format on November 10, 2009.

Originally self-released by Daylight in early 2009 as a free downloadable demo, Sinking has been remixed, remastered and given its proper due in physical form. There will be a total of 520 10-inches pressed on three colors (102 white w/ orange splatter, 133 white / grey swirl, 285 white). Pre-orders will be limited to 102 and will include a silkscreened / hand-numbered cover. There is a special 10″ / tee package deal available as well.

The band is currently streaming two songs from the EP on its Myspace page.

BANG BANG ECHE KICK OFF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR WITH HAR MAR SUPERSTAR

New Zealand dance punks Bang Bang Eche will be kicking off their North American tour this October with Har Mar Superstar following a plethora of performance at this year’s annual CMJ Music Marathon. The band of teenagers will be over in the US to promote their highly anticipated new EP, Sonic Death Cuntttt, available worldwide this November and the follow up to their 2008 self-titled debut EP.

OLD CANES: OCT/NOV TOUR BEGINS TOMORROW

Tomorrow, Old Canes will embark on their October/November tour, beginning with a hometown show at the Jackpot in Lawrence, KS. The tour will initially take the band eastward, where they will perform at the CMJ Music Marathon during the Saddle Creek showcase at the Knitting Factory Brooklyn on October 22nd. Feral Harmonic, the band’s sophomore album, will be released October 20th on Saddle Creek.

Limited edition CDs and LPs of Feral Harmonic are now available in the Saddle Creek online store. Hand-assembled at the Saddle Creek office by Grammy award-winning artist Zack Nipper, each CD and LP is wrapped with a black ribbon and features hand ink-stamped impressions on the cover label and inner/outer packaging, and a booklet of black and white photographs. The vinyl run is a hand-numbered edition of 1,000 and includes a code to download the album in high quality MP3 format. Old Canes is the brainchild of Chris Crisci (The Appleseed Cast), who wrote and recorded Feral Harmonic in his basement studio. On tour, he is joined by Kelly Hangauer (4th of July), Taylor Hollenbeck, Lucas Oswald (Minus Story), John Momberg (Appleseed Cast/Dactyls; drums on the West coast leg of the tour), and Jeff Stoltz (Drakkar Sauna; drums on the East coast leg of the tour).

OWL CITY ANNOUNCES EARLY 2010 TOUR DATES

Owl City announces his first few weeks of 2010 tour dates in support of his incredibly successful label debut – Ocean Eyes – out now on Universal Republic. MySpace will offer an exclusive ticket pre-sale beginning October 16th and running through October 23rd for the tour dates. The tour kicks off January 21st at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City, MO and sees Owl City with full band in tow heading through the Midwest, Southeast and up the East Coast through mid-February. The short US tour will include special guests Lights and Deas Vail and sees the band hitting some of the smaller markets not visited this past fall. In addition, the 2010 dates come on the heels of Owl City’s first trek to China and Japan and comes before the band will make their live debut in Europe as well as Australia where they’ll be hitting the road with Cobra Starship.
