ELECTRIC SIX ARE SET TO ‘KILL’

electricsixkill

ELECTRIC SIX lives in a world filled with double entendres, subversive scenarios, and a soundtrack that relies on equal parts rhythm and melody. On October 20, 2009, that world takes a murderous direction with their sixth album KILL on Metropolis Records.

The band will be kicking off their “I’m Trying to Cut a F*cking Spot, Tony” Tour in support of KILL, starting Oct. 15th in Rochester, NY and circling around the US straight through the end of November.

The contest is a chance for unsigned artists to gain recognition and win over $15,000 in prizes to help advance their careers. Bands can currently preregister to qualify for voting on day one, at which time they may begin to rally their friends, fans and families to help push them to the top.

The 2009 IOTY competition will reward finalists with prizes from Ernie Ball, Tower.com, IK Multimedia, Rainmaker PR, Diskfactory, Indiepower.com, PlayBack Clothing, Sonoma Wireworks, Sam Ash, Future Perfect Radio, Blue Microphones , and Broadjam.com, with additional prizing to be announced by September 1st. Fresh from headlining the Smartpunk stage on Warped Tour ’09, Hit The Lights is pleased to announce the MANATOUR. This will be the bands first headline tour in support of Skip School, Start Fights.

NEW ANNUAL TOUR LAUNCHES THIS FALL – ‘CLASS OF 2009’

Platinum-selling Rock band Saving Abel will headline the inaugural CLASS OF 2009 TOUR, with Red, Pop Evil and Taddy Porter along for the ride. The excursion will get underway on October 27th in San Antonio, TX and continue until the end of the year. The first leg of dates will go on sale the weekend of August 28th, with additional blocks of performances to be announced shortly.

The concept behind this new annual tour is to bring together rock artists who have achieved substantial TOP TEN hits at radio in the current calendar year. Each year, an unsigned band, a.k.a. “The Freshman,” will be selected to open the show for the full tour, providing an opportunity that is nothing short of a launching pad. Each of the acts on the inaugural run outside of Taddy Porter (this year’s “Freshman”) is riding major airplay at radio, and could be touring as a headliner on their own. The submission process outlining eligibility for consideration to be “The Freshman” for the CLASS OF 2010 tour will be unveiled soon.

BLACK NUMBERS – CATALOG UP FOR DONATION-BASED DOWNLOAD

Beginning today and continuing for the next two weeks, New Jersey independent punk label, Black Numbers, will partner with Bandcamp.com to offer its entire catalog as a donation-based digital download. All albums are available in several bitrates and formats, including mp3, AAC, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis and Apple Lossless.

To start downloading – and ideally, donating – go here. If you chose not to donate (and why should you? I mean, it’s not like the label and bands dumped a ton of cash into recording, manufacturing, advertising, touring and promotion, right?) then all Black Numbers needs is your email address and you can continue to live your fancy pants, free-music-having lifestyle.

Featuring Al’s Moustache, the newest 7-inch from Higher Giant (members of Token Entry, Grey Area,
Lifetime, Kid Dynamite, WARZONE), Black Numbers’ discography also includes releases from Static Radio NJ, Rock, Star and Purpose.

SUICIDE CITY ANNOUNCES NATIONAL TOUR

When SUICIDE CITY formed in NYC during the cold winter of 2005 by members of Kittie, Biohazard and Groovenics, a pretty big ripple hit the undergound punk and rock scene. Their debut EP Not My Year clocked in over 7,000 copies independently and made the media raise its collective eyebrow.

Four years later, that ripple has turned into a tsunami. Their debut album FRENZY (released earlier this month on The End Records) crashed on the media’s desks and splashed all over their editorial.

While initial wave of the album release may have leveled everything in its path, the band’s most powerful impact – their live show – is yet to come. A tour has just been announced and the waves should be crashing into cities nationwide any minute.
