BARCELONA RELEASES ABSOLUTES ON APRIL 28TH

Seattle-based trio Barcelona are set to release an expanded and remixed version of their acclaimed debut album Absolutes on April 28th via Universal Motown. In anticipation of the release, the band offers an exclusive stream of an acoustic version of the new track “Come Back When You Can.” Following several successful performances at SXSW, Barcelona is ready to hit the road with a US tour that includes dates with Mae. (Tour dates below)

Originally released in August 2007 on the band’s own NBD Music, Absolutes received rave reviews from coast to coast. “Barcelona has captured fleeting emotions and indescribable feelings,” opined the Boston Globe, “and put them into the slightly more tangible forms of music and lyrics.” “Not only the best local debut of 2007,” declared Seattle Weekly, “it might be the best local release, period, of 2007.”

ONLY THUNDER ANNOUNCE TOUR

Only Thunder (Denver, CO) will be leaving for a ten day tour of the Mountain States beginning on Thursday, April 2nd.

The band is playing shows in support of its debut full-length, Lower Bounds, which was released on 12-inch vinyl by Bermuda Mohawk Productions on October 28, 2008.

Joining the five piece will be The Revenge (Suburban Home). Only Thunder also has several local shows in May and June with Ninja Gun, Mike Hale and Dillinger Four.

Featuring ex-members of The Blackout Pact, Ghost Buffalo, Pinhead Circus, Qualm, The Mediks, Shogun and Cost of Living, it shouldn’t be difficult to guess where Lower Bounds falls on the sonic spectrum. Only Thunder cranks out eleven guitar-driven barnstormers that are both aggressive and melodic, with soaring choruses, raw vocals and a no-nonsense grit and determination. You can stream songs from the album on the band’s myspace page.

FOR THE LIONS, to be released on E1 Music (formerly KOCH Records), is the follow-up to the band’s #1 Billboard charting DVD, LIVE DOMINANCE (released September of 2008) which left fans “Picking their teeth up off the floor” and “sounding immense” according to Outburn.
